A few things to think about and know before we begin

Are You Getting a New Website?

Domain Ideas — What or .com domain name would you like? Any ideas? Come up with a few (and so will we) and we’ll check their availability. Once you choose a domain name, you should intend to keep it (so think carefully). We will take care of registering it for you.

Domain &Hosting Details  — We need access to your current domain name so we can work on it. Get your login details from your current host ready for us as we need this to login/change/update/transfer your site, depending on your requirements.

Please Note: The design of your website will commence once a 60% down payment has been made and our simple 1-page agreement has been signed as well as the “Scope of work” document to clarify exactly what will be done.

We Start To Design Your Website Mockup

Sit back and relax and watch us work our Magic.

The Process Begins

Once you have given us everything we need to get started, we commence building your website!

It typically takes us 1-2 weeks to prepare a mockup. Yes, we are quick!

Once we’re ready to show you our work, we will notify you and send a link to the mockup.

The Mockup

At that point, most people love what they initially see, but keep in mind, though, that what you see is just a mockup. It’s not a finished product. That means if you don’t like something, that’s totally fine! You have total freedom to request any changes you want. Don’t like the colors? The layout? Certain pieces of text? Make a list of the changes you’d like, and we’ll keep working on the site.

Your Review

It’s recommended you check out the site on your desktop computer.

This is how we design the website at first (not for viewing on a mobile device). If you check the mobile site, you may see some funky design rendering.

The mobile version of the site is done later.

Notes & Feedback

Many clients have found it easy to write the list of changes in either an email or a Word Document. Try to organize the changes by page and don’t be afraid to speak up. You won’t hurt our feelings. This is your website, and you should take pride in the finished product.

After a few rounds of revision, the site is ready to finalize and launch.

Final Edits & Launching

After going through a few rounds of revision, the website should be to your liking.

Final Edits

At this point, we do a number of things to the site before we “launch” it:

  1. Make it mobile-friendly by optimizing it for tablets and smartphones.
  2. Check that all “links” are working.
  3. Harden the website against hackers using a number of security strategies.
  4. Setting up SEO with keywords and descriptions
  5. Submit the site to search engines.
  6. Optimize Images – Optimises image size and load times while retaining quality.
  7. Check that all Forms are working.
  8. Optimizing Code, CSS and Databases for best performance.
  9. Go through every page and scrutinize every element of the design and content.

Maintenance Plan

If you choose to have our monthly maintenance plan we will also:

  1. Send you Monthly detailed analytics reports.
  2. Install Uptime monitoring.
  3. Configure regular website backups.
  4. Monitor for (and remove) Malware and Viruses.
  5. Updates Security regularly.
  6. Update Plugins regularly

Full description of each feature check here.

Note that many of the above steps aren’t visible on the frontend of the website. These are things we need to do to the backend of the site.

If you haven’t already paid, the 50% final balance is due just before the launch of the site.
